A forum user on Blu-Ray.com, MifuneFan, contacted Animeigo after spotting a listing for a Lone Wolf and Cub Blu Ray box set on dvdaf.com.
Animeigo president Robert Woodhead responded:

The six film series follows the adventures of Ogami Ito, a former Shogunate Executioner. His wife is murdered and he is framed for treason by the scheming Yagyu Clan. Disgraced, he wanders Japan with his infant son, working as a mercenary as he tries to maintain his honor.
Woodhead continued:
We took the HD transfers and temporally noise-reduced them (4 days processing per movie!) and now I’m revising the subtitles for HD — the higher resolution and ability to anti-alias and blend subtitles provides new options we want to take advantage of.
The edited / dubbed in English version of these movies are being released next week by Animeigo, under the title ‘Shogun Assassin.’ The video quality is reportedly very good, which bodes well for the LW&C set, as they both use Animeigo’s remastered video source.
