I’m not a customer of Funimation’s for a variety of reasons that I won’t go into here; but for those that care, here’s a round up of the announcements they made yesterday at Anime Expo.
Aria the Scarlet Ammo, Jormungand, Blood-C TV, Blood-C: The Last Dark, Michiko & Hatchin, Appleseed XIII, Ikki Tousen – Great Guardians, Ikki Tousen – Xtreme Xecutor, and Eureka 7: Astral Ocean. Many of these were shows that Funi had previously announced the online streaming rights for, so they aren’t much of a surprise. One notable exception to that, though, is Ikki Tousen – Great Guardians, which beleaguered anime company Media Blasters not only licensed, but went so far as to solicit to retailers, only to delay it and leaving the title in limbo.
Not a good sign for Media Blasters, who, interestingly enough, is another anime company I never buy from anyway.
They also picked up the online streaming rights to Binbougami ga! and Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero.
