ALF Crash Lands in Theaters

Sony Animation has just green lit a feature film based on the late eighties sitcom ALF.  The film will be produced by Jordan Kerner, who also spearheaded the poorly rated but financially successful Smurfs movie.  Like The Smurfs, ALF will combine a CGI ALF with live-action supporting characters.  Co-Producing the film are Tom Patchett and Paul Fusco, the creators of the original TV series.  Fusco also voiced the title character.

ALF (alien life form) is the nickname of Gordon Shumway, a sarcastic, wise-cracking, cat-eating alien from the planet Melmac who crash lands in a suburban family’s garage and subsequently lives with them.  It ran for four seasons on ABC between 1986 and 1990.
