NBC is developing a TV series based on the indie comic Hench by writer Adam Beechen and artist Manny Bello.
The 80 page graphic novel Hench, published in 2004, followde the ‘adventures’ of a lowly super villain’s henchman named Mike Fulton. The TV series will be written by Alexandra Cunningham (Fastlane, Prime Suspect).
NBC had a major superhero hit with Heroes, but that series fizzled out, and the network’s second attempt at comic-style TV, The Cape, barely lasted ten episodes.
This is the second stab at filming Hench, the first was in 2009, when Danny McBride (Your Highness) was attached to star in a film version that never got out of development.
