This leaked pic from the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has given us our first look at the new Mary Jane Watson. Shailene Woodley (Secret Life of the American Teenager) takes over for Kirsten Dunst, who played Peter Parker’s ginger girlfriend in Sam Raimi’s trilogy.
Peter’s love interest in the first film was Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), who was, in fact, the character’s first girlfriend in the comics. MJ didn’t come in till later, after… stuff happened.
British actress Felicity Jones has been cast in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, alongside returning stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.
No word yet on who she’ll be playing, which is usually an indication that said information would constitute a spoiler, so there’s a good chance that Jones will be taking on a notable Marvel comic character.
Right now, most people are thinking it’s Black Cat.
The official facebook page for The Amazing Spider-Man confirmed that the film, which opened today, will be the first in a trilogy.

The trailer also reveals that Peter Parker takes his mask off in the middle of virtually every fight.
