The youngest hero in Sternbild City, is rendered in plastic wearing her civilian outfit. Its similarity to Uma Thurman’s jumpsuit in Kill Bill is just a coincidence.

The first of two films based on the Tiger & Bunny TV series, Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning, will be released on Blu Ray and DVD in Japan on February 22nd 2013. And, as with the TV series, the discs will include English subtitles.
A regular edition is currently available for on amazon.co.jp 4032 Yen ($50), while the special edition will run you 6779 Yen ($85).
‘The Beginning’ is an edited compilation of the TV series with a few new scenes (and one new hero) thrown in to justify the ticket price. The second film, Tiger & Bunny: The Rising, will be an original story set after the events of the series.
Here’s the first teaser poster for Tiger & Bunny – The Rising. It’s based on the hit anime about superheroes vying to be the most popular on the reality series HERO TV, and thus attract the most corporate sponsors.
‘The Rising’ is an original story taking place after the end of the TV series. The poster gives a release date of Autumn 2013.
The first Tiger & Bunny film, Tiger & Bunny – The Beginning, was released on September 22nd. It’s a compilation of the TV series, using mostly recycled video with a few new shots (and one new hero) thrown in to justify the ticket price.
The first official trailer for Tiger & Bunny – The Beginning has revealed the promised new hero character.
Of course, other than the fact that he wears glasses, we don’t learn anything in particular about him. The Tiger & Bunny twitter account did, however, chime in with the character’s name: Robin. Maybe he’s a sidekick?
The first footage from Tiger & Bunny – The Beginning aired on the Japanese morning show Mezamashi Terebi this morning.
This film will be a compilation of the TV series, comprised mostly of reused footage, through the producer, Masayuki Ozaki promised the introduction of a new hero character, so there’s at least one surprise to look forward to (though I wouldn’t expect the character to have that big a role).
Tiger & Bunny – The Beginning hits Japanese theaters September 22, 2012, and a sequel featuring an original story will come out in 2013. Continue reading
Last week, we showed you some of the sillier merchandise attached to the hit anime series Tiger & Bunny. But now, Bandai and Beams have announced something much cooler.
This set of three character parkas feature hoods that zip up in the front to form the masks of Tiger, Bunny, and Lunatic.
Beams is taking pre-orders until July 9th, with a shipping date of September. With the exchange rate, they’ll run you a little under $200 each.
Japan is no stranger to exploitatively merchandising a hit anime series, but this one seemed a little excessive to me. It’s a 25 meter long roll of tape with scenes from the Tiger & Bunny TV series printed on it.
The show finished last year, and with a new movie on the way, they obviously want to keep the franchise fresh in people’s minds; but with masking tape? Continue reading
Tiger & Bunny
Volume Nine
Bandai Visual
The ninth and final volume of Tiger & Bunny closes a chapter on the adventures of the titular heroes and their compatriots in Stern Bild City. It leaves many questions unanswered, and indeed, asks a few new ones. Presumably, these new mysteries will be tackled in the two movies that have been announced since the TV series ended its run.
