New Oz Poster Brings Flying Monkeys

The latest poster for Disney’s Oz: The Great and Powerful reveals several varieties of flying monkey; from a cutesy bellhop-type, to an angry baboon with a pitchfork.

In the background can be seen The Dainty China Country, which is one of the weird places Dorothy and company visited in the original novel that was excised from the famous film version (one of its citizens is flying on the bellhop monkey’s back).  Hmm, drug addicts describe their addiction as a ‘monkey on their back;’ so what does it mean when a monkey has something on its back?

The Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, Spider-Man) directed film stars James Franco and Mila Kunis and opens March 8th, 2013.
