Lucasfilm Denies Abrams is Leaving Star Wars 7

ap110608074727_custom-db373f0370bf518ef429bb19e7ed66c05855bcf1-s6-c30Lucasfilm issued a brief statement denying that Star Wars Episode VII director J.J. Abrams was leaving the project:

“There is no truth to the rumor. J.J. is having a great time working on the script and is looking forward to going into production next year.”

Rumors that he was dropping out apparently started after he tried to move the shooting location for the new film from England’s famed Pinewood Shepperton Studios to somewhere in America; a request that was nixed by Lucasfilm.  So, for now we have a denial (not that they’d admit it if he were standing on the proverbial ledge).
