Laura Vandervoort (Smallville, V) is returning to sci-fi TV next year in the Canadian werewolf series Bitten. An early program from this year’s Fan Expo includes an ad for the Canadian sci-fi channel Space, which features the new series along with returning shows Being Human, Doctor Who, and Orphan Black.
Is this an actual image of Vandervoort in the series or just a recycled head shot?
The series, which Laura talked about during a panel at Toronto Comicon (read the report, or watch the video), is based on a series of novels by Canadian author Kelley Armstrong. Laura plays Elena, the world’s only female werewolf. In the first episode, she hooks up with a pack and moves to the werewolf sanctuary of Stonehaven, where she learns to control her powers.
Vandervoort said that these werewolves differ from those seen in Being Human and other series in that their transformation is not controlled by the moon, but by excited emotions. She also promised that the show would feature a lot of frontal nudity, but she might have been joking.
